A Custom 43-Inch Double-Sided Outdoor Display for Two-Way Foot Traffic

A display placed in the middle of a pedestrian area has an advantage that wall-mounted signage cannot copy: people can approach it from both directions. Leaving one side blank wastes that position. ZXT LCD planned this customised 43-inch standing unit as double-sided outdoor digital signage, giving each flow of visitors a complete LCD face within one shared enclosure.

The freestanding cabinet presents digital content toward two traffic directions.

The project is not simply two single-screen kiosks joined together. A common cabinet changes weight distribution, internal heat, power routing, service access and anchoring. Customisation should solve those relationships while keeping the finished structure visually coherent.

Begin With Traffic, Not With Cabinet Styling

The first project drawing should show where people walk, where they pause and what each side needs to communicate. At a shopping-centre entrance, one screen may address arriving visitors while the other speaks to people leaving. At a transport interchange, the two faces may serve opposing routes. In a queue, one side can promote while the other provides operational guidance.

If only one direction has a meaningful audience, a double-sided cabinet may add cost without adding value. ZXT LCD asks buyers to define the viewing paths so the chosen structure has a clear purpose.

Matching Content or Independent Campaigns

The screens can be planned for mirrored content or separate playlists, depending on the selected player architecture. Mirrored campaigns simplify brand consistency. Independent playback allows each side to address a different audience, but it also requires clearer content ownership and scheduling.

The decision influences internal hardware, remote management and testing. It should be recorded before production rather than left for installers to interpret on site.

What Customisation Changes Inside the Cabinet

External changes such as colour, logo, base shape and profile are highly visible, but internal changes determine whether the equipment remains practical. Two LCD assemblies need secure support, protected cable routes and sufficient service clearance. Player, power and thermal components must be positioned so technicians can reach them without damaging the opposite screen.

ZXT LCD reviews the internal layout during engineering and assembly. Openings for cameras, sensors, speakers or touch components are prepared only when those options are confirmed. This prevents a customised appearance from hiding an unserviceable interior.

Balancing Two Screen Faces

The visible openings should align so the cabinet looks intentional from the side. Door gaps, glass position and screen height become easier to compare when two faces share the same frame. Batch production makes small differences more noticeable, which is why the approved sample is important.

Surface finish should be reviewed under realistic lighting. A colour that looks correct on a monitor may appear different on painted metal outdoors. Logo size and placement also need to work from both directions without interfering with locks or vents.

Testing Two Displays as One Product

During factory testing, both screens are powered and checked for startup, orientation, image position and basic playback. If independent content is required, each channel is tested with its intended output. The internal power and control arrangement are reviewed according to the confirmed configuration.

A complete test also considers enclosure access and thermal operation. Two illuminated panels can produce a different internal load from a single-screen model. Brightness, cooling and environmental protection should be selected from the installation conditions and operating schedule.

Do Not Assume Every Outdoor Site Is Equal

A covered concourse, exposed plaza and coastal promenade present different combinations of sunlight, rain, dust, temperature and corrosion. The buyer should provide site photographs and climate information. ZXT LCD can then discuss materials, glass, sealing and thermal management appropriate to the project.

Claims about ingress protection or operating range should follow the confirmed specification and available documentation. A factory photograph cannot replace project-specific testing or certification requirements.

Foundation, Cable Entry and Wind Review

A tall double-sided structure exposes both faces to the environment. The foundation and anchoring must be designed for the site, cabinet and local structural requirements. ZXT LCD can provide product drawings, while the project’s qualified engineer should confirm the final foundation and installation method.

Power and network cables should enter through a protected route, normally coordinated before the concrete or mounting platform is completed. Service doors need clearance after anchoring, and maintenance staff need a safe working position away from traffic.

Using a Sample to Control Repeat Production

Custom work benefits from an approval stage. The sample lets the buyer check proportions, colour, screen height, logo treatment, content behaviour and access. Agreed changes can then be incorporated before the remaining units are produced.

ZXT LCD records the approved configuration for repeat assembly and final inspection. This helps the finished batch maintain a consistent visual identity across multiple installation points.

Details Required for a Custom Quotation

Provide quantity, screen orientation, viewing directions, desired cabinet dimensions, colour reference, logo artwork, site photographs, sunlight exposure, local climate, operating hours and playback method. State whether the screens need identical or independent content and list all optional functions.

Our team can then evaluate the dual-screen cabinet as a complete system and compare it with other outdoor LCD display formats.

Effective double-sided outdoor digital signage uses one installation point to communicate clearly in two directions. Its value depends on traffic analysis, coordinated content and a cabinet engineered for both screens. ZXT LCD develops double-sided outdoor digital signage around those real project needs rather than changing appearance alone.
