The cabinet designer should consider operating temperature, solar load, daily runtime and heat generated by neighboring components. Depending on the project, thermal management may involve fans, filtered ventilation, air conditioning or another controlled cooling arrangement.

The display should not be installed directly beside a heat source unless the cabinet has been evaluated for that configuration. Service technicians also need enough clearance to inspect connectors and replace components without dismantling the complete machine.

Confirm the Signal and Computer Configuration

The word “monitor” does not automatically mean that a computer or media player is included. Before ordering, buyers should confirm the required video inputs, resolution, touch interface if applicable and the type of computer that will control the display.

Some projects connect the monitor to an industrial PC. Others use an Android player, embedded controller or customer-supplied computer. Cable length and connector position should be reviewed during equipment design.
